Disposing Cockroaches Properly

Disposing cockroaches is not a problem if you deal with a few roaches, but it can be a problem when dealing with a large number, especially after extermination. However, I will elaborate few methods that will help you dispose of roaches properly.

Method 1: Throwing roaches in Trash

If you have successfully killed a few cockroaches, i.e., 1 to 5, it is better to throw them in the garbage bins or dumpsters outside the house.

However, it would be best to put them in a disposable paper bag and throw them in a garbage bin with a cover. Otherwise, stray cats or birds might eat them. A cockroach killed with insecticide will affect cats or other stray animals, including birds.

Method 2: Burying Under the Soil

I love this method because it is best for the environment and your garden at the same time. All you have to do is put roaches in a disposable paper bag and bury them under the soil. After five days, water the soil and get the best free composite.

It is essential to know that a cockroach killed with insecticide needs to be buried for a few more days until the insecticide fades away.

Method 3: Burning them

Roaches killed with insecticide are better to be burnt. Burning them will prevent the poisoning of other environmental insects and scavengers.

All you need to do is put the roaches in a paper bag and cover them with wood. Fire the wood and enjoy the view. A burning roaches’ fight smells terrible, so it’s better to wear a mask.

Method 4: Flushing them down the drain

It is probably the most straightforward method to dispose of cockroaches; all you need is to ensure that roaches are dead and flush them down the drain. The sewage contains decomposing bacteria, and soon the roaches will turn into mist.

Should I kill a cockroach if I see it?

Seeing a cockroach doesn’t mean that you necessarily have to kill it. Many roaches, such as palmetto bugs and wood cockroaches, are accidental intruders, and they rarely infest homes.

On the other hand, small roaches such as the German cockroach needs to be killed immediately if you see them. This is because small roaches are incredibly resilient and are very notorious for infesting home.

The easiest and quick method to kill a cockroach is to spray it with an insecticide. Don’t attempt to kill cockroaches physically because they are very resilient and withstand a lot of force. Once they sense danger, small roaches are quick runners and will immediately hideaway, making it impossible to spot them again.
